Abstract

A community safety system (CSS) including a notification management entity (NME) comprising servers, the NME communicatively coupled to multiple user devices and one or more administrator devices (collectively, registered user devices). The CSS includes a plurality of registered users, wherein each registered user is associated with an organization, and a user category of a set of user categories. The NME may maintain a list of the registered users and associated information. The registered users may have user devices including a CSS application operating thereon. In some embodiments the CSS enables inter-organizational communication, allowing for members of a first organization to provide alerts that the NME can pass to a second organization when the registered user is physically located within a security zone associated with a second organization but not a member of the second organization.

An emergency response system (ERS) configured to acquire target terminal location data, emergency responder terminal location data, and equipment location data, engage a camera component of the emergency responder terminal to capture images of at least a portion of the surrounding real-world scene, providing such images for display on the touchscreen display of the emergency responder terminal, and providing one or more menu items associated with a selected target terminal display object, the one or more menu items configured to activate a resource of the target terminal of the selected target terminal display object to assist the emergency responder to locate the target terminal.

Abstract

Systems and methods for an emergency response system (ERS) to provide an augmented reality overlay on a real-world scene through the heads-up display (HUD) of an emergency responder. In addition to displaying information known to the ERS, an emergency responder terminal of the ERS can detect propagated signals from devices not registered with the ERS. The source and location of the propagated signal can be determined, and a generic display object can be generated representing the location of the propagated signal. The generic display object can be displayed on the HUD when the location of the source of the propagated signal falls within the field of view of a camera component of the emergency responder terminal.
